Eating green chilis got me free fillings
You’ve heard of crazy bartering stories. I’ve heard them too, but never actually tried it out on my own.
Yesterday I went to sit down at Dr. Swati’s dental office as I often do when I find myself bored. We talk about everything from the local food to differences in dental school and dental practice in the U.S. & India.
For some reason she had a bag of green chilis laying on her desk yesterday. She said they were for home - as they go through a lot of chilis. She asked if I would eat one. I said sure I’ll eat one - but for each one I eat, you have to give me a free filling. (I have 3 cavities.) She agreed.
I was able to eat only 2 chilis. A lot of pain, a lot of tears, and a lot of burning happened when I ate these raw chilis - chewed them thoroughly - but at the end of it, here I sit today in front of you with 3 fillings having paid for only 2.
Now that’s hot.
