Lollipops, Cars, Bubbles and Haircuts

Kids can get a haircut at any local establishment.

But a place where kids are the center of attention while getting their tiny hairs did? That’s genius!

Check out Cozy Cuts for kids - Matt Lauer & Rosie O’Donnel’s kids have. And the pricing is affordable to anyone!

I love this company. They focus on what they do and do it well. The marketing happens naturally.

The facilities include individual temperature control system and environment-friendly toilets - a first in a luxury train - along with live TV, internet, on-board screenings and direct dialing.
Maharaja train lines at $2,500 per day. Don’t worry. They have plans starting from $800 per day as well.

Bad Clients

Bad clients have many traits, but they usually can be pinpointed right at the get go when they do one of the following. I recently made the mistake of working with one such client and it ended abruptly and with commotion on the final payment structure.

So, who is a bad client?

1. They think they know the job better than you.

if they did, why didn’t they just do it themselves?

2. They are cheap and will try to squeeze you till you can barely survive.

Value is great and negotiations are to be expected, but sometimes clients care more about money than the final product.

3. They think you are a commodity. (RUN if they do)

4. They give poor instructions.

5. Talk to you like they own you.

I’d like to expand on each point, but I think the above is a good starting point.

If you’re trying to market a company and what they stand for, it is essential that you like the people behind the scenes as well.

No one wants to market a jerk.

Bespoke

Things are always “customized”, “unique” and very “personalized” in marketing. It’s the truth, usually.

But amidst the truth, many companies will write things just to seem like they are customer-centric.

So how can a bonafide “original” company with a strong attention to detail change its perception from its competitors?

Use better copy, better branding and stand out.

A word that I’ve noticed being used in everything from chocolate shops, software design and even investment banking is Bespoke. The word itself means custom-made but in historical reference, it associates itself with tailor-shops in London.

It’s a lovely word. A lovely way to stand out and I plan on using it wherever appropriate.

people matter more

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. People make your business, not technology. Respect and treat your employees with the utmost care. They will output 1000% more simply by you spending more time and money and effort on them rather than on their robotic counterparts.

Ben-Gay

I love Ben-Gay because it works. It always works. I’ve had a stiff neck for the past 3 weeks now and I just applied a bit of Ben-Gay and it’s cured. Just like that. Within an hour. With a product that good, you don’t need a marketing plan, your product sells itself via word of mouth and of course that soothing aroma helps too.
